“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better”- Albert Einstein

In nature, there are regularities that intricately work with one another to create what is known as the ecosystem. When one of those regularities is thrown off balance chaos awaits. This understanding caused me to revisit the connection between routine and having better life experiences, is implementing a daily system the cure to unnecessary life chaos?

Humans are habitual creatures, our habits create our mood and our mood considerably impacts our daily life. Our daily routine is the heart of our habitual character, without routine you will find unproductivity, impulsivity, and feelings of confusion.

“You’ll never change your life until you change something you do daily. The secret of your success is found in your daily routine” — John C. Maxwell

Lifestyle goals like living clean/healthy, reading three books every month, starting a new business venture etc. aren’t reached within one day. In reality, these lifestyles are built by the daily habits that close the gap between where you want to be and where you are.

What does a routine look like and what does it not look like?

A routine is chosen by the individual based on what he/she desires to experience in their everyday life. Routine is not to be forced on you or based on external sources.

Although much inspiration comes from other’s, mimicking another person will eventually feel unfulfilling. Take time to figure out what a life of purpose feels like to you and follow that desire to implement new activities in your day or spruce up old ones.

A routine is to be followed every day in order to become a habit. In the beginning, there will surely be resistance and it’s because you are attempting to change the way you live your life.

“Zen is not some kind of excitement, but concentration on our usual everyday routine” — Shunryu Suzuki

As daunting the tests of willpower will be while implementing change it‘s no comparison to the emotional satisfaction of achieving the daily life your heart desires.
